File # 2017

RCMP resources deployed to the Elephant Hill Wildfire are maintaining their patrols and checkpoints of both the Northern and Southern shores of Green Lake.

The RCMP would like to convey reassurances to the residents and remaining evacuees affected by the lifting of an evacuation order to an evacuation alert by the TNRD, for properties of Green Lake North and the remaining evacuation order for properties of Green Lake South.

RCMP resources alongside with Conservation Officers deployed to secure these zones continue to conduct mobile patrols and static check points on a 24 hr a day basis. We would like to reassure the remaining evacuees of Green Lake that security of the area homes and properties remains as a high priority. We have numerous manned checkpoints in addition to roving mobile patrols being conducted 24/7. We are also monitoring for boating activity on the water and to date have seen next to zero watercrafts out on the water. Our officers are interacting with residents who have returned and remind everyone to report any suspicious activity occurring in the area or on the water, stated Cpl Dan Moskaluk
